Mask Protocol Overview

Accessing the web, posting content, and receiving payment involves numerous service providers lurking in the background. These service providers can block your content, halt your payments, or simply remove you from the platform entirely. Every service provider is a potential point of censorship, and they all extract value from you. Blockchain is a technology for disintermediation. It is possible to remove the unnecessary service providers that stand between creators and consumers. That's where Mask Protocol comes in.

Mask Protocol Architecture

The architecture of Subsocial is primarily focused on creating so called Social Primitives, such as posts, follows, comments, and reactions, that enable developers to build or integrate novel use cases using uniquely Web3 features like NFT-gated chats, social tokens, or renting content from the author.

Token Name - MASK PROTOCOL
Token Symbol - MASK
Token Decimal - 18
Token Supply - 100.000.000
Network - Smart Chain
Contract Address - 0xf98E808e9bEe115971C7d3cD07d6353c6E331591

A User-Owned Social Network

On Mask Protocol, users are the owners of the network. Token holders can participate in the overall governance of the Subsocial platform, but users can also participate in the governance of each space where they are a member. Each space can be like a DAO (Decentralized Autonomous Organization) where members can have ownership and help to steer the direction of a space. Space governance is optional, of course, but we believe many spaces will choose to adopt this feature.

Cross-Chain Interaction With Parachains

One of the most exciting aspects of Mask Protocol is the ability for one parachain to trustlessly interact with another. This also means it should be possible to use any token on Polkadot or Kusama to make payments on Mask Protocol
The primary interest for this is likely to be paying for subscriptions in either DOT, KSM, or any of the various stablecoins.
Additionally, it would allow integration of functionality from other parachains, such as decentralized identifier solutions from KILT, or prediction markets from Zeitgeist.
